If you’ve been following the blogs you may remember that late May we sent 2 large boxes over to Minoro. The boxes were filled with items from the list that Minoro Administration gave to us while we were visiting in December 2018. The list included school supplies such as paper, crayons, scissors, glue, books, learning materials and more. We were able to fulfill most of the list and also included drawstring backpacks, some flip flops, and a t-shirt for each student.
The boxes traveled a long ways to reach the students at Minoro. They are shipped over via cargo ship, delivered in Naga City, then loaded onto a “jeepney” where they travel another 2 hours to San Jose, Camarines Sur, the city where Minoro Elementary is located.

Arrival at Minoro!
Team work to carry the boxes.
Once the boxes arrived, the teachers sorted the supplies and the students lined up to receive the items, they were so excited! Every student received a new shirt, a backpack, tooth brush, and a majority of them got a new pair of shoes. Some school supplies were dispersed, but most of them will be kept at the school for communal use.

Beautiful girls of Minoro!

The school supply giveaway was a huge success! There’s no way this would have been possible without the many donations the Minoro project has received. To purchase the supplies and ship them isn’t cheap, but we are so happy were able to fulfill this need For the Kids. Thank you to all of you generous donors and supports who believe in For the Kids. I keep in weekly contact with the Administration at Minoro, they are always sending updates of the feeding, programs, and the kids. Lastly, they are constantly thanking you all for the love and support you show For the Kids. They are forever grateful.
