Pancit (shown above) is a Filipino dish that usually consists of a very thin rice noodle cooked with soy sauce along with some variation of meats and chopped vegetables.

The menu can sometimes depend on the access to ingredients, so dishes like Pancit and Filipino Spaghetti is a treat for the kids! Yes, Filipino Spaghetti is a thing. Filipino spaghetti, also known as sweet spaghetti, is a Filipino adaptation of the Italian spaghetti with Bolognese sauce. It has a distinctively sweet sauce, usually made from tomato sauce sweetened with brown sugar or banana ketchup. Filipino Spaghetti is usually topped with hot dogs!
Banana ketchup or banana sauce is a popular Philippine fruit ketchup condiment made from mashed banana, sugar, vinegar and spices. Banana ketchup was made when there was a shortage of tomato ketchup during World War II due to lack of tomatoes and a comparatively high production of bananas.

July was also Nutrition Month. The Nutrition Month is an annual campaign held every July, as mandated by PD 491, also known as the Nutrition Act of the Philippines. Such aims to create greater awareness among Filipinos on the importance of nutrition! A special meal is prepared and the school holds a day of celebration with a parade included!
