Take a Seat, SIS! Project 2-COMPLETED

There has been an overwhelming amount of support and interest in For the Kids–The Minoro Project since launching on January 2nd! It’s been busy, sis! Priority Project #2- tables and chairs AND January feeding funds were raised–you guys have made this all possible!

New tables and chairs were purchased for the K-1 students of Minoro. The students were THRILLED to see the shiny, new products! It’s not often they get new items.

According to my Tito Noel who has been doing much of the ground work in Minoro, Administration was happy the students now have comfortable chairs to sit on and that were much safer than the old shredded wooden chairs.

Trying out the new tables and chairs!

A huge THANK YOU from the Administration and Students of Minoro! A little message from Principal Artemio “We are so thankful for the kind and generous acts from our friends, without you none of this would be possible”. To be able to provide safe and comfortable resources for the students while learning is a big success for us all.

January Feeding-YUM

Even though For the Kids was launched January 2nd, the outpouring love and support has been undeniable–And with that being said, the donations that came in also covered January feeding for Minoro!

To the right you will see preparation of “GOTO with Egg” which is a staple in the feeding program, as it provides enough nutrients for the students to carry them through the day and give them lots of energy! You can read more about the feeding project (and find the recipe to GOTO with Egg” here: https://forthekids.blog/2018/12/28/minoro-feeding-program/

The students were so excited so see Macaroni Soup on the menu as well! Donations for snack are very limited and never promised. The menu depends on what funds are available and it can be challenging to get access to the ingredients needed. Needless to say the feedback from the students when they had Macaroni Soup was nothing short of pure happiness!

Last but not least, to the left you will find the younger kids enjoying snack time on their new tables and chairs!

It is without a doubt, impossible to have been able to support the Minoro project and everything happening in San Jose, Camarines Sur without YOU.

The donations have been incredible but it’s much more than that. It’s the awareness of the Minoro Project and sharing it through social media outlets, website links, and word of mouth. It’s the interest and suggestions of additional resources. It’s the conversations of feedback and encouragement that have gone a long way for me personally. But ultimately and at the end of the day–it’s the love and support that every single one of you has shown for something that is much bigger than themselves.  Selflessly shown.

I am excited to continue our work at Minoro and can’t wait to update you again soon. Thank you for trusting, supporting, and believing in me! We have more work to do–Cheers!
